These United States
Thanks, friends and fans, for two lovely shows in Calgary and Edmonton!
(the above photo is from neither event- it's me and my buddy Mike at the Last Chance Saloon in Wayne a couple of weeks ago)
The releases for 'These United States' were populated with a mix of those young in years and wise in spirit, graduated in years and youthful at heart, the funny, fun, smart, sensitive and strange. Many thanks for supporting the Crack Band, and filling the request box with so man Cactus Mans and One Shoes.
For those who haven't received the 'special edition' copy of the new CD available only at those two shows, the lead off track 'Soul Food' is up on our Myspace. I'll let you know when the full CD is set for sale for download and in stores.

So says the music industry conference panel member to the aspiring songwriter.
What a fine time Dave Lang and I had on our B.C. tour! Lots of laughs. Lots of laughs.

There were no nights that were not late, and we even filmed a pilot of a cooking show with Carolyn Mark in which songwriters and their friends party in the kitchen while Carolyn charms and sings and gets the sous chef (me) to chop the veggies.
I have a few new songs whose titles will make no sense to you unless you've heard them, but stay tuned for a summer acoustic recording that features such numbers as 'Bury the Needle', about driving fast in order to forget one's lack of prospects, 'Johann Heesters', about the world's oldest entertainer and former Third Reich favourite, and 'The British Rape Krakow', which is becoming a live favourite and needs to be recorded.

Hello friends! The band and I are playing tonight, Friday June 5 at the Artery in Edmonton. I had the date on the posters as Saturday June 5, which was wrong and silly of me. Hope there was not too much confusion.
